1st Malvern Company Band

Since the re-formation of the 1st Malvern Company in 1988, the band has been an ever present fixture for Friday nights, and can regularly be seen parading through Malvern for Church Parades, and also appearing at other events.

For some years the band has been playing across the UK, notably playing with the London Massed Bugle Band for the Lord Mayor's Show, where many of our members were caught on TV. In recent years, we have taken part in a European tour to Belgium and Northern France, commemorating the events of the First World War along with members of other BB and GB band from across the UK. Other tours have taken place in York, and in Blackpool and the North West.

The band provides a very important skills base for those participating in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme (DofE Scheme). We provide musical tuition on the company's band instruments. Many of our band members have not previously played a musical instrument, and being a member of the band provides them with a skill and unique experience.

The Band for Older Members

Those bandsmen approaching 18 years old can continue their musical interest in the Bugles and Drums of the Stedfast Association (BADOTSA). This "Old Boys" band is made up of former Boys' and Girls' Brigade members, officers and other friends and associates from around the UK and beyond. In recent years, BADOTSA has performed in Belgium and Northern France, including playing the Last Post under the Menin Gate, at Guernsey's Liberation Day celebrations, and at events in every UK capital city including the London Lord Mayor's Show and Beating the Retreat at Edinburgh Castle. Find the BADOTSA website HERE.

Speak to Lt Chris Noble if you are interested in continuing as a player with BADOTSA.
